		For more than 35 years, Miami criminal defense lawyer Bruce Alter, Esquire has dedicated his law practice to defending people who have been charged with crimes throughout Florida and the United States. Mr. Alter began his career as a criminal defense attorney in 1976. After graduating with highest honors from Brown University and the Florida State University College of Law, he accepted employment with the Miami-Dade County Public Defender's Office. During his eight years as an assistant public defender, he tried hundreds of criminal cases, including sexual battery, robbery and murder. In 1981 he was promoted to senior trial attorney, supervising the development of other attorneys and specializing in complex litigation and capital homicides. Mr. Alter opened his own criminal defense law practice in 1984. He has continued to aggressively represent clients, in both the State and Federal systems. He has successfully tried cases, ranging from drug trafficking, child sex abuse, and homicide, to complex white collar cases, such as money laundering and fraud, involving over $100 million.
